If you are involved with a local voluntary or community group that is seeking financial assistance such as a grant, you must first ensure that the group has a set of rules/constitution and appropriate bank account in place. This is the minimum requirement before funding can be obtained, with other policies including Health & Safety, Child Protection (if the group is involved with children) and Liability Insurance. Small grants of up to £1,500 are available from Wigan Council and other local agencies. These are identified in the Small Grants in Wigan Booklet. If your project is on a larger scale, the Information & Development Team can offer expert advice on all aspects of project development including consultation, form filling, developing business plans, financial aspects and much more.
