How do I apply for an Indoor Stall?
Vacant stalls are advertised monthly via the Council website and local press. You are advised to visit the Market Hall to view which stall would best suit your business needs.
The next step is to fill in an application form to apply for the vacant stall which will then become a sealed tender. All applications are then opened at 9.00 am on the closing date of that month’s advert. A stall letting committee meeting will be held to decide on successful tender.

How do I apply for an outdoor stall?
To apply for an outdoor stall an "Open Market Application/Registration Form" needs to be completed these are available via the "Apply for a stall link" or direct from the Market Office. The completed form plus proof of adequate liability insurance cover must be produced at the Market on the first day of attendance.

How much does it cost?
The costs of an outdoor stall on Wigan Borough Markets are as follows per day:
Atherton - £7.00 each
Tyldesley - £7.00 each
Leigh - £8.20 each
Hindley - from £10.85 depending on floor space required
Ashton - from £10.85 depending on floor space required
Wigan - £22.30 each (from Monday through to Thursday the cost of an additional stall is half price)

What are the charges?
Indoor market stalls all vary in cost depending on the area and the frontage of the stall. When the stall is advertised the price given is the minimum tender amount. This means that only offers of that amount and over will be considered.
Other costs included are a one off agreed payment to the out going tenant for fixtures and fittings you may require them to leave, plus a payment of £250 for the electricity supply and meter. You will also be billed quarterly for the electricity that is then used.

What do I have to do to stand on the Sunday car boot sale at Hindley Market?
There is no need to pre-book, a market officer will be on site from 5.00 am and you are advised to get there between this time and 6.30 to guarantee a pitch during the summer period.
The current charge is £8.00 per vehicle.

What is the procedure for organising a car boot?
Applications will be considered to hold occasional car boot sales.
To hold a car boot please fill in the necessary application form (available via the 'Apply for a Market Stall' link) - 28 days notice must be given.
Planning Permission may be required for holding a car boot.
