We have developed the Healthy Business Award with the help of businesses boroughwide, to increase the availability of safe and nutritionally balanced food. The aim is to give those who prefer to eat more healthily the option of doing so whilst out and about in Wigan.
We are working in partnership with the Ashton Leigh & Wigan NHS and closely with many other community health and wellbeing services.
Our specialist team of advisors is working closely with all the businesses on the scheme to support them to provide the widest possible selection of healthier options as well as their normal menu options.
We have also developed and manage the Breast Feeding Friendly Award (.pdf, 36kb) so mums out shopping will know that they can count on a warm welcome and baby changing facilities where they see the logo.
