The Council's Business Compliance Section provides some Foundation Certificate courses accredited by the CIEH. It is designed for all food handlers and provides an introduction to food hygiene. The course meets level 2 training and covers these topics:
- introduction to food hygiene and the law
- bacteria and temperature control
- control of cross contamination
- physical contamination
- storage of food
- personal hygiene
- cleaning and disinfection
- structure and layout
- pest control
