Platt Bridge Community Zone is a Wigan Council managed Enterprise centre that is a ‘one stop shop’ for both the business and community markets and contains Business Units, Business Incubator Units and Business Support facilities, that can be used also for the local community for groups and activities of all ages.
Platt Bridge Community Zone is situated in the centre of Platt Bridge and is a 3-storey building that contains 19 car park spaces including 2 disabled parking bays.
Located on the ground floor are a Conference / Activity Suite and also a Private Day Nursery that provides professional childcare for children from 0 – 5 years of age.
The Conference / Activity Suite can be hired for Meetings and Training Events, as well as an activity area for social clubs, Exercise classes and community groups. The suite contains a Smartboard and Projector for hire at any event. The suite also contains a fully accessible kitchen that can be used for training purposes as well as to supply refreshments for all meetings and activities.
There are 2 Business Support facilities located on the First Floor; a Meeting Room and a Training Room.
The Meeting room contains desk and seating for meetings of up to 15 people, plus contains a Whiteboard for use in meetings and presentations.
The Training Room houses 12 fully networked computers that can be used for either training or study purposes.
Business Incubator Units
Business Incubator Units are managed workspaces within the Platt Bridge Community Zone. The four units are furnished to a high standard, providing everything a business needs to operate and thrive – ideal for new start ups, community businesses or locally developed micro businesses.
Each high quality, fully decorated unit will include a computer, telephone, networking, office furniture , as well as carpeting throughout.
The premises are CCTV monitored, on both the car park and reception areas. The main entrance is intercom operated and controlled by reception staff. All Business Incubator and Support Units are accessed via coded door locks.
The incubator units and business support facilities are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Northwest Regional Development Agency’s (NWDA) North West Coalfield Communities Regeneration Programme.
The Business Incubator Units are competitively priced and fully equipped, making them an ideal starting point for your new business / social enterprise or for more established enterprises looking for a new base.
Tenants at the zone also benefit from additional business support facilities including meeting rooms, conference facilities and an ICT Training Suite. All these are available to hire on an hourly, half or full day basis.
There is also free car parking available on site.
The private day nursery located on the ground floor is available to any tenants who may require childminding facilities whilst they are at work.
