There are many events and situations which could cause disruption to your business;
- loss of power for a few hours
- loss of a building and data due to a fire
- loss of a key supplier
- fuel shortage
Your customers will not wait for long, while you try to recover. Business Continuity Management will help you to identify these risks and cope with them if they do occur.
The Civil Contingencies Service can provide advice and guidance to local businesses and voluntary agencies on how to develop Business Continuity Plans.
The 10 Greater Manchester Local Authorities have produced a short guide to this process. You can download it free here: Promoting Business Continuity (.pdf, 135kb).
The Cabinet Office has produced guidance for organisations on Business Continuity Management for fuel shortages. You can download it free here: BCM Fuel Shortages (.pdf, 117kb) or you can contact us and we will send you one by post.
It is not only businesses that are at risk from disruptive events. The Civil Contingencies Service also co-ordinates the Business Continuity Management process within the council, so that if we find ourselves in such circumstances, we can continue to provide our critical services to those who need them. For more details about how this is being done, please contact our office.
