What changes do I need to tell you about?

You need to make sure you report any changes in your circumstances straight away, otherwise you could lose out on benefits.

What kind of things do I need to tell you about?

This could be a change in your income or a change to the amount of money have in savings or investments.

It could also be if another person moves into your household or if someone already living with you has a change in their circumstances. This could be a grown up son or daughter whose earnings have increased or gone down.

Where the change means you qualify for extra benefit - but you don't tell us about the change within the one month time limit - we will only be able to increase your benefit from the following Monday.

The time limit may be extended by 12 months, but only where special circumstances apply

If you are receiving Pension Credit you must also inform the pension service of any changes in your income or the amount you have in savings.

If you are in any doubt as to whether or not you should tell us, contact us, as in some cases it may mean you are entitled to more benefit.
