Organisation Detail
Bereavement Register (External link) A service designed to remove from databases and mailing lists, the names and addresses of people who have died.
Citizens Advice Bureau (External link) Provides information and support on a wide range of issues, e.g. welfare benefits, filling in forms.
Compassionate Friends (External link) A nationwide charitable organisation of bereaved parents, offering support to parents whose child has died at any age and from any cause. Support is extended to siblings and grandparents. They produce leaflets, publications and a quarterly newsletter.

Miscarriage Association (External link) Provides support and information on miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. Wigan and Leigh District Miscarriage Support Group also provides information and support.
Samaritans (External link) Provide 24-hour confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair.
Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (External link) Offers emotional and practical support, e.g. helpline, bereavement packs, support groups, support days, residential events, information.
Wigan Churches Association for Family Welfare Can signpost you to counselling services available for vulnerable people of all ages and faiths.
Wigan and Leigh Carers Helpline (External link) Provides information and support for bereaved carers.
Wigan and Leigh Hospice (External link) Can provide counselling and emotional support to patients and their families who are registered with the hospice.
