You can use this page to search the Wigan Council Website

Keyword Search

Enter the keywords you wish to search for. If you wish to look for Swimming Pools in Wigan type in:

wigan swimming pool

The results returned will be documents that contain all of the keywords.

If some of the keywords are optional you can put OR (case unimportant) between the optional keywords. E.g.you wish to search for libraries in Ashton or Golborne type in:

library Ashton OR Golborne

If you want to exclude words from your search. e.g. If you wish to find pages containing Social but not Services type:

social not services

Wildcards

You can also use wild cards. e.g If you wish to search for words begining with foo type foo*. This can be combined with the keyword search discussed above.

Searching for Phrases

If you wish to search for expressions or words in an exact order e.g "Going for Gold" type Going for Gold in quotes.I.e:

"going for gold"

Note: The search only accepts alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-) quotation marks ("), apostrophes (') and asterisks (*)

You can search various sections of the website using the tabs in the results page shown below:

General will provide results from the General Web Pages from Wigan Council and the related organistions of Wigan and Leigh Housing and Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust.

Services will provide results from the A to Z of Council Services.

Council Meetings will provide results from the agendas aand minutes of meetings of the Council and its Committees

News Releases will provide results from the Press Releases of the Council.

Documents will provide results from the pdfs(Adobe Acrobat Potable Document Files) on the Council Website
