Roadworks bulletin

Prepared 26 March 2015

Issue 807

The aim of this bulletin is to give the public advance notice of roadworks in the Wigan Council area. The council recognises that roadworks can cause inconvenience and it is hoped that this information helps to minimise delays and other problems associated with the works. Every effort has been made to provide accurate and the most up-to-date information available but it is not intended to be a definitive list and cannot cater for works carried out at short notice. The council also reserves the right to make changes to the programme if emergencies arise.

1. Hough Lane, Tyldesley

The main construction works are substantially complete and the road has re-opened.  However TfGM will be carrying out works between Monday 5 January 2015 and Friday 3 July 2015. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation on a part time basis for heavy plant crossings.

This period has been selected to coincide as far as possible with the school holidays, in order to minimise any disruption.

The road closure will not affect pedestrian access. In addition, a diversion route via Hough Lane will be signed during this closure period and the emergency services will be informed.

The diversion route will be:

Princes Avenue – Manchester Road – Church Road – Henfold Road – Hough Lane – Manchester Road

Throughout the scheme the traffic management will change and updates will be provided.
