What you need to do
You can search existing online indexes using Wigan World (external link).
If you are unable to find the information you require, you can complete a record search form online.
If you require a same-day turnaround, please complete a record search form, then call us on 01942 828993 to arrange payment before 12 noon. Fees are detailed below.
We will then carry out a record search, however this is only possible if the search relates to one of the sites listed below:
- Lower Ince Cemetery and Wigan Crematorium
- Westwood Cemetery
- Gidlow Cemetery
- Atherton Cemetery
- Tyldesley Cemetery
- Howe Bridge Cemetery
- Hindley Cemetery
- Leigh Cemetery
- Ince-in-Makerfield Cemetery
What does it cost?
Same day fees
It costs £30 for each individual search (per person) where a response is required on the same day. If you require us to complete a search on the same day as you send the form, you must complete the record search form online and contact us on 01942 828993 to arrange payment.
We can only provide a same day service if you complete the record search form online before 12 noon on a weekday.
3 day turnaround
It costs £13 for each individual search (per person) where a response is not required on the same day - maximum of 3 days response from the date we receive your payment.
