But next week there will be a fifth great reason for hitting the market in the heart of town…cash!
The team behind Wigan Market has launched a new promotional scheme which gives market shoppers an extra £5 to spend on their favourite stalls.
The market team will be handing out vouchers to customers from Monday March 15 onwards which have a value of £5 to spend on any of the market stalls.
There are only two rules – the vouchers can’t be exchanged for cash and no change can be give but they can give your weekly shopping power a real boost.
Wigan Council’s Cabinet Champion for the Economy, Cllr David Molyneux says: “We are really proud of our market and there’s really never been a better time to get down there and see what’s on offer.
“This promotion is our way of rewarding those loyal shoppers who know all about the great value and choice the market offers. It’s also a great way to encourage new customers to our market.
“We want local people to buy local and support the borough’s home grown traders. There really is no better way of doing this than supporting your local market.”
- The vouchers will be available distributed in the town centre on Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 March
- Wigan Market in on New Market Street, Wigan, and opens Monday to Saturday.
