Wigan Council is to host a civic reception for local sports stars who took part in the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics.
Olympic athlete Jenny Meadows will join Paralympians Heather Frederiksen, Rachel Latham and David Clarke as guests of honour of the Mayor, Cllr Rona Winkworth, at a town hall reception on Monday, 3 November.
Heather, from Leigh, won two swimming golds and a bronze in the Paralympics. Fellow swimmer Rachel Latham from Billinge and Hindley five-a-side footballer David Clarke also competed in the games in September in which Britain won more medals than all except the host country.
Wigan's 800 metre runner Jenny Meadows was a member of Team GB and took part in the Beijing Olympics a month earlier.
The guest speaker on the night will be Wigan's former champion swimmer June Croft (now Boon), who won silver and bronze medals in the 1980 Moscow Olympics and is a three times Commonwealth Games gold medallist.
Paralympian athlete Shelly Woods and Jon Pollock, who plays wheelchair basketball, were also invited but are unable to come due to clashing events. Shelly is competing in the New York marathon and Jon is taking part in a basketball tournament.
The Mayor said: "The residents of our borough are extremely proud of the superb recent achievements of our Olympians and Paralympians and it is only right that the council recognise what they have done."
