Leigh-born legend Georgie Fame heads back to his roots this November for a special home-coming concert. The rhythm ‘n’ blues and jazz-influenced performer will appear at the Monaco Ballroom in Hindley, on Thursday 15th November.
Candidates sought for youth elections (30/10/2007)
The search is on for two young people to represent Wigan Borough at the UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) during 2008. Each year young people across the borough elect two Members of the Youth Parliament (MYPs) for Wigan Borough by casting votes throughout January and February in local schools, Connexions Centres and online.

There was a resounding cry of ‘job done’ following the hugely successful Jobs Fair held recently at Wigan Investment Centre. More than 400 people attended the event, which featured a number of local employers looking to recruit, including Argos, The Army, ASDA, Bents Garden Centre, BHS, Galloways Bakeries, Hurleys, Next, TK Maxx and Wigan Council.
