Over 600 budding young sport stars will head to Robin Park Arena in June to take part in the Wigan Borough Primary Schools Festival.
The children will take part in eight different events, with the best young talent being put forward to represent Wigan Borough at the Greater Manchester Mini Games on the 6th July in Rochdale.
Primary schools from the west of the borough will be at Robin Park Arena on Tuesday 5th June, with the other half of the borough’s schools from Leigh and the surrounding areas will take part on Tuesday 12th June.
The festival is organised by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s Sports Development Unit and the Wigan Schools Sports Partnership.
Michael Watson, Sports Development Officer for WLCT, said:
“The Primary Schools Festival is always a really exciting event and it is clear that the children get great enjoyment from taking part. This is a chance to help nurture the skills of our young stars of the future, but most importantly to make sure local children have a chance to express themselves and enjoy their sport.”
