The borough’s mobile advice shop hits the highway next week, bringing expert help out of the office and into town centres, supermarkets and local communities.
From housing and council tax benefits to dealing with debt, some of the most knowledgeable people around can be found at the following locations from 10am to 4pm.
- Wigan town centre, Monday 6th and Friday 10th August.
- Leigh town centre, Wednesday 8th and Monday 13th.
- Asda Wigan, Tuesday 7th.
- Asda Leigh, Thursday 9th.
- Marsh Green, Tuesday 14th.
On board will be representatives from Wigan Council, Wigan & Leigh Housing, The Pension Service, Age Concern, Citizens Advice Bureau, Wigan Independent Advice Centre, Energy Efficiency Advice and the Fire Service.
Wigan Council’s Neighbourhoods Champion, Cllr Keith Cunliffe says:
“By taking the service out on the road, we’re hoping to get closer to the communities we serve. Whatever you want, whatever you need, these people will point you in the right direction – don’t miss the bus when it visits a venue near you.”
