Pemberton’s Christmas switch on event was held on Thursday 6 December and was a huge success.
This event was organised through the Pemberton Business Partnership Group who received funding from Wigan Council, Pemberton Ward Councillors and Norley Hall Local Voice, which helped to put the decorations up in the town centre and fund the event.
Local businesses Gee’s and Greenhalgh’s bakery also helped out with the event providing wrapping paper for all the gifts for the Santa’s grotto and hot mince pies!
Pemberton Town Centre Co-ordinator Emma Gaster says:
“A big thank you goes to Pemberton Tenants and Residents Association who helped to wrap these presents up for us and also to Pemberton PCSOs and Police Officers who helped us on the night.
“Special thanks go to St John’s School for the wonderful carol service and the Rock Bus for the fabulous Santa’s grotto.”
The presents that were left over from the grotto have been donated to Derian House.
Emma adds:
“Well done to everyone involved in the event and we hope to see you all at next year’s switch on event.”
