It’s time to get your little one in the frame with a free professional portrait photograph.
That’s what’s on offer to proud parents from all over Wigan if they take part in an exciting council-backed survey looking at what the future holds for the borough’s youngest citizens.
Wigan Borough Partnership wants to know what parents, other relatives, friends and neighbours of babies born this year would like to see for their young charges when they reach 18.
The partnership is putting together a strategy for the next 18 years called Vision2026 and is looking at what newborns can expect from life when they reach the magic age.
The questions being asked in the survey include things like:
- What presents will you give your baby when they turn 18?
- How do you think your 18 year-old will spend their free time?
- What do you think Wigan will be famous for in 2026?
To get these and other answers the partnership is holding a series of local discussion groups about vision2026 and families who turn up will get a top quality professional photo of their tot or a family portrait as a reward.
Wigan Council Community Engagement Chief Simon Dale says: “The sessions will be informal, fun and a great way to give us some valuable information about your views, hopes and dreams for the future.
“And to record the event for posterity we’re offering the fantastic incentive of a portrait to take pride of place on the mantelpiece that you can treasure forever.”
The dates of the remaining discussion groups are:
- Thursday May 8 – Ashton YMCA, Bolton Road, Ashton from 1pm until 3pm.
- Saturday May 10 – Wigan Town Hall Charter Suite from 10am until noon.
If you are not able to come along you can still take part in the online survey at www.wigan.gov.uk/vision2026 or give call the team on 01942 776155.
