The Big Chat

Description :

The Big Chat is a consultation event which aims to gather feedback from people with learning disibilities on the priorities of the Valuing People Document.

The main priorities of the Valuing People document are personalisation, what people do during the day, better health, access to housing and making sure that change happens. It also covers issues such as hate crime and relationships.

The aim is for people to have their say, using a variety of interactive and user friendly methods, to assist people to communicate in order to make sure everyone is heard.

During long discussions, the Valunig People Team's innovated thinking has arrived at the conclusion that consultation in the past as been ineffective in reaching a wider audience.

The Big Chat is unique because of its creative methods. The information collated throughout the day will be used in our future planning to shape services, inform our practice and affect positive change. The information will also inform the work of the partnership board and the work of the associated subgroups and projects.
